CEA exam establishes a person's understanding of auditing principles, pre-acquisition information -- interviews, finding and using information sources, elements of conducting on-site inspections, ethics, and reporting of results. There is only one exam for the AEA and CEA. Candidates passing the exam are credentialed as either an AEA or CEA based on a combination of their education and work experience.
