General Position Responsibilities  Provide technical assistance to the aggregates industry in all aspects of environmental regulation, science and law with specific focus on NSPS Subpart OOO, NAAQS, NPDES, storm water, and section 404 permitting. Responsible for initiation, formulation and implementation of policies and procedures to accomplish effective and innovative strategies in the assigned programs. Develop policy and recommendations that require broad judgement and ingenuity in interpreting the intent of legislation, regulations and executive orders in the operation of the Association’s environmental programs. 
Specific Duties:  
Staff support to ESH Division leadership and Environmental Committee       
Staff support for national environmental coalitions
Represent industry before regulatory agencies: EPA, F&WS, FEMA, NMFS, USACOE, DOI    
Manage environmental research projects
Manage environmental litigation
Supervise environmental awards program
Develop and implement environmental training programs for industry
Background/Education Requirements:  Degree required in engineering, biology, geology, environmental science or other environmentally-related or earth science discipline. Advanced degree and professional registration or certification highly desirable.
Experience Requirements:  Practical experience in environmental permitting, testing and regulation; general understanding of mining or construction materials industries; public policy and association management a plus. 
Technical Skills:   Public speaking and technical writing; Travel 25%.
